Jerome M Liptow

Jerome Martin Liptow, age 89 Peacefully passed away on Sunday October 16, 2022 surrounded by his loving family at Hospice of the Western Reserve. Jerry was born to Phylis Dean and Joseph Liptow (both deceased) in November of 1932 in Ford City PA. He was preceded in death by his siblings Joe, Dorothy "Sis", Irene, and Jim. After graduating from Ford City High School, he relocated to Cleveland, Ohio. After a time, he began working at TRW. While there, he met the love of his life, the late Ruth Evelyn Riccardi. They were married for 52 Years and had three children, Joseph (Sandi), Mary Jo, and Elizabeth Dunlap (Craig). He is survived and will be dearly missed by his grandchildren Michael Lander (Satomi), Emily, James (fiance Missette), Sara, and Jacob, his great grandchildren Masaki and Airi, and beloved cat, Snuggles.  For 17 years, Jerry worked for TRW as a manufacturing engineer. In 1966, he and his then family of 4 were sent to Port Elizabeth, South Africa, were he served as the Chief Inspector of the TRW Thompson Ramco Facility. This is where they resided for 2 years, and their third child, Elizabeth, was born. Later in his career, he spent many years as an inventor at General Electric.  In his younger years, Jerry enjoyed living and growing up in his hometown of Ford City. His earliest hobbies include roller skating, swimming in the Allegheny, and dancing to 50s music. In fact, he was voted best dancer his senior year of high school. Throughout his adult life, Jerry most treasured the time he spent as a loving and supportive husband, father, grandfather, and uncle to many. He cherished the many moments and experiences he had with his family. Entombment Knollwood Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to meet for Mass of Christian Burial 10 am Friday at St. Noel Church, 35200 Chardon Rd, Willoughby Hills, Ohio. Friends may call at THE FIORITTO FUNERAL HOME, 5236 MAYFIELD RD, LYNDHURST (E OF RICHMOND RD) FROM 4-7 PM THURSDAY.
