Joan Marie (Capron) Decious 62 died January 24th from a courageous battle with lung cancer at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House, Hiawatha Services will be held 11:00 Monday January 28th St. Paul Lutheran Church 201 North Ford in Anamosa. Visitation will be Sunday January 27th 2:00pm to 7:00pm at St. Paul's Lutheran. Burial will be at later date. Surviving is her husband, Lynn; her three brothers Gary (Sandra) Capron, Robert (Barb) Capron, Michael (Phyllis) Capron, niece Crystal (Ed) Sarsfield, nephews Trevor (Jeannie) Capron, Casey Perez, Ben (Mindy) Capron, Jeremy (Danielle) Capron, great nieces and nephews, Zoey Ann, Megan, Jordan, Elizabeth (goddaughter), Chesney, Ava, Hope, and Allison Ann Marie. Joan Marie Capron was born February 20, 1950 in Monticello, Iowa. She was the daughter of Harry and Catharina (Folkers) Capron. She was a 1968 graduate of Anamosa Community High School, married Lynn Decious 1978, a 1981 graduate of Kirkwood Community College and a 1992 graduate of Mt. Mercy College with Magna Cum Laude Honors . She retired from working for the State of Iowa in 2004. She then worked part-time for Knuth Law Office and in 2007 took a job with Linn County REC until her illness. Joan loved more than anything to be with her nieces and nephews and later their kids. She went snow skiing, Bicycling on RAGBRAI, RIDE THE ROCKIES, and many other bike rides. She will be missed by her family and those closest to her.
