VAN PROEYEN, John, A. May 11, 2011 Age 67. Beloved husband of Joan (nee Moroney) for 36 cherished years. Loving father of Mike, Pam (Gary) Morgan, and Steve. Proud grandfather of Sara, Michael, Paul, and Carlee. Dear brother of Ron (Debbie). Predeceased by his adored parents George and Anna and his siblings George and Marguerite. John was retired from CEC Controls where he worked for 35 years. He enjoyed photography, especially his grandchildren's sporting events, as well as lighthouses. He was also a member of the Unlimited Hydroplane Club. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by everyone. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions in John's honor would be appreciated to the Shelby Community Foundation, Attn: Jamie's Smiles, PO Box 183181 Shelby Twp, MI 48318. Visitation Friday 3-9pm. Funeral Saturday 11am at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons 36900 Schoenherr at MEtro Parkway (16 Mile Rd). Share memories with the family at their "On-Line Guestbook" @ WujekCalcaterra.com.

John was amazing in his breadth of interest and meticulous in his desire to take the perfect picture, build the best crafted toy, analyze the best way to accomplish a task, and always curious about just about everything. I will miss our conversations and the friendship we had.
