Josie LaMarca Heughan

Josie LaMarca Heughan, of Loranger, Louisiana, passed away at her home surrounded by loving family on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at the age of 84. She was born on December 6, 1937, in Independence, Louisiana, the daughter of the late Pasquale LaMarca and Sarah LaRocca LaMarca. Josie was a longtime member of Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church where she attended school, was confirmed, and married the love of her life Lawton "Chuck" Heughan. Her love of children and her strong Catholic faith led her to spend time volunteering in the nursery at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Baton Rouge for many years. Josie loved tending to her numerous plants and flowers, and she adored her family. In her later years, she enjoyed crafting with her friends. Josie is survived by her husband of 60 years, Lawton Heughan; sons, Patrick Heughan (Kimberlyn) and Chet Heughan (Michelle); grandchildren, Ashley Kinchen (Jeff), Brandy Heughan, Sarah Kraemer (Dustin), Lawton Guzzardo, Makaley Nash (Cory), Makenzey Heughan, and McCord Heughan; great grandchildren, Hayden, Trinity, Noelle, Jodie, Aubrey, Joele, Brinlee, Jovani, and Jianna; siblings, Jeanette McCahill (Winfield), Anthony LaMarca, and Pasquale LaMarca (Gail); son-in-law, Bo Ohmart; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Josie was preceded in death by her daughter Erin Heughan Ohmart, sister-in-law Beverly LaMarca and nephew Billy McCahill. Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Friday, December 10, 2021 from 9:00 am until 10:30 am. A Funeral Mass will be held at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, 620 3rd St., Independence, Louisiana 70443 on Friday at 11:00 am, with Fr. Reuben Dykes officiating.
