Joyce Marie (Orrison) Blaskie

Joyce Marie ( Orrison) Blaskie, 89, of Sardinia, Ohio and formerly of Battle Creek, Michigan died peacefully at her home on February 3, 2020. She was born February 18, 1930 in Marshall, Michigan the daughter of Jesse and Orpha Z. (Clay) Orrison. Joyce was raised in Marshall and attended Marshall High School. She was employed in the personnel department at K-Mart for 30 years, retiring in 1994. Joyce Marie Orrison was united in marriage to Joseph Henry Blaskie on April 15, 1972 in Battle Creek. She is survived by her daughter Kathleen and son-in-law Garry Townsley; step-sons David, Dan (Deanna), Steven and Ken; grandsons Anthony (Julie) Schuler and Jason (Susan) Schuler; granddaughter Dawn Wind; great-grandchildren Tiffany Westrich, Heather, Alyssa, Cheyenne, Andrew, Kelsi , Kaine Schuler , Joseph Ford and special friend Denise Fletcher-Buroker. She was preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband Joseph Blaskie, brothers Guilford, Jesse, Howard, Robert, Keith, Jack, James and son Arthur Eugene Masters. Joyce was a member of St. Philip Roman Catholic Church and the Sportsman Club of Battle Creek. She enjoyed boating and fishing on their boat in Saugatuck. Joyce also enjoyed traveling and camping in their motor home. Friends will be received 10:30 – 11:25 a.m. Friday, February 14, 2020 at St. Philip Roman Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. John D. Fleckenstein at St. Philip Roman Catholic Church 11:30 a.m. Friday, February 14, 2020. A committal service will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Memorial contributions in memory of Joyce may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
