Karen and I worked together at Sunrise where we began our friendship. She once told me that she never had a female friend. I told her to ‘ buck up she had one’. We went back to college together and spent 14 days in Jamica. As time passed, even when I left MN, we never lost touch. We had planned a meet up in September, not near enough time to get there. I loved Karen Like she was my sister and now I’m not sure what to do without her. I pick up the phone to call and remember she is not there. Time has not lessened any hurt for me. I hope she will be there for me when it is my turn. Shannon, Paula, and George you had a beautiful inside and out wife, daughter, and step daughter. Please accept my love of Karen and I am only a phone call away.

Karen was DON when I worked at Sunrise. She was a caring, compassionate nurse & a great boss. We enjoyed her company at a few of our "Former Sunrise Employee" luncheons. Her passing will leave a great void. RIP Karen.

My deepest sympathy to Karen's Family and friends. Karen was an excellent nurse with compassion and empathy. She had a great sense of humor and was a team player. I was privileged to work with her when I was Administrator at Sunrise. ❤

George, Cindy and family. You have my deepest sympathy in the loss of Karen. She was such a special person. We had lost contact but reunited at her father Joe's funeral. We both attended the same grade in Waverly and every Sunday I could be found at Karen's house. It was a fun, loving family to spend time with. So sorry to the whole family for their loss. She will be missed.
