Karen Winterbower Obituary

Published by All Veterans Funeral & Cremation - Colorado Springs on Jun. 20, 2018.
On Wednesday, June 20, 2018 Karen Kay Winterbower beloved daughter, sister, mother and grandmother passed away at age 58. She was born September 24, 1959 to parents Floyd and Priscilla Valdez in Pueblo, Colorado. In 1966 the family moved to Manitou Springs where Karen attended school and graduated in 1978. She was currently residing in Colorado Springs. She was raised as one of Jehovah's Witnesses and was baptized on October 5, 1975. She was a single, devoted mother who raised two sons and instilled in them bible truths and love for Jehovah. Her life long career was spent in the house cleaning industry. She will be most remembered for her strong faith, limitless concern and warm reception towards all, her infectious laugh and her endless love for family and friends. Everything about Karen was genuine and will be missed. Whether she was faithfully attending Christian meetings, planning a gathering, caring for family and friends, stopping at garage sales or thrift store shopping, Karen never failed to give a bright smile, cheerful laugh or spiritual thought. We look so forward to seeing her again in the promised resurrection that Karen so strongly believed in as recorded in Revelations 21: 3, 4. She is survived by her children Justin Winterbower (his wife Jody and grandson Caleb) and Tyler Winterbower, her father Floyd Valdez, brothers Randy and Dennis Valdez and sister Nadine Powers (her husband Todd.) She was preceded in death by her mother, Priscilla Valdez in 2015.
