Jack was one of the greatest guys I ever knew. He had a doctorate, was a Veteran, won golf championships and scholarships, downhill skied and golfed well into his 80's! The first day I met him as a home caregiver, Jack was 97 years old and riding a stationary bike! He would have ridden a bike right down the street if he wasn't blind and thought he could sneak past us! Nothing could stop him mentally or physically. No matter what life brought him- blindness, being without his beloved wife, old agehe always had a fantastic attitude and never ever complained. Well, unless the Giants lost! Jack was a huge inspiration to me and my son regarding how taking care of your body and being active can keep you strong your whole life. Jack enjoyed life and clearly made the best of his mind and body but the only thing he ever seemed to kind of brag about was his family. Jack was extremely proud of Jan, Jenny, Jim and Lori (to name a few) for their own talents and spoke of his wife Lucille picking him for marriage as if he had won the lottery. His whole family meant a great deal to him and the selfless care they gave to their Dad was a blessing to see. See you soon, Jack.

Dr Esget was one of my favorite professors as an ungraduate at HSC. He often had a "serious" twinkle in his eye, and I knew he was making a point, but saw humor in it. He was a great guy who made my journey through the education department interesting.
