Nancy Cholo Obituary

Published by Forest Lawn - Cypress on Sep. 18, 2012.
Nancy Beatriz Cholo was born on April 22, 1941, in São Paulo, Brazil. She passed away on September 18, 2012 after battling lung and bone cancer for two months. She was 71 years old. She resided in Stanton, California at the time of her passing and had lived there since 1977. She had moved there with her husband, Ricardo and daughters Ana and Nancy from New Jersey. The family had been in search of sunshine and warm weather. Nancy had earlier immigrated to the United States in 1965 as a nanny. She met Ricardo in an English as a Second Language class in New York City. They celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary on August 28, 2012 while Nancy was in the hospital battling pneumonia. Nancy was loved by all. Her unique and friendly personality and ability to draw people into conversation made her popular with everyone she ran into. Her Brazilian cooking was like no other. A perfectionist, she would spend hours in the kitchen making sure every detail was just right. Her dishes always came out delicious and tasty. She is survived by her beloved husband, Ricardo; her daughter Ana of Seal Beach; daughter Nancy of Lakewood; brother Jose Carlos of São Paulo, Brazil; and three grandchildren, Julia, Richard and Jude. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Joana Pacheco Ianni and Costabile Ianni, both of São Paulo, Brazil. Jude Kamlan, Nancy's youngest grandson, has autism. The neurological disorder became an interest of hers towards the end of her life. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributing to the Autism Society of America under Nancy's name or another charity of your choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Cypress, California.
