Claire Edwards-Roberts, 66, Passed away Sunday, March 8, 2009. Funeral: 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2009 at Keller Church of Christ, 205 South Elm. Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 12, at the funeral home. Burial: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Memorials: in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Keller Church of Christ in Claire's name. Claire Edwards-Roberts was born May 14, 1942 in Grenada, Mississippi. She graduated from Benford High and continued her education at Holmes Jr. College in Mississippi, UTA in Arlington, and Dallas Baptist University. She moved to the Metroplex in 1961. Claire was a highly respected C.P.A. in Colleyville and sold real estate with Keller Williams. She was a leader in her field and in the community. Claire spent her life devoted to God. She ministered to others by feeding the hungry and making blankets for children. "Mom" made every person she knew feel special. She loved God, life, family, pets, cooking, quilting and the holidays. Claire was a wonderful wife and an amazing mother. She Will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, three grandchildren and husband, Nathan Edwards. Claire has been in private practice since 1982, after serving as vice president and general manager of a major lumber company. She has been recognized for professional and civic contributions; including being awarded Member of the Tear of the Texas Association of Financial and Tax Specialists, serving on the IRS Liaison Committee for the Dallas District, recognized as one of the outstanding women excutives in the state of Texas, and Rotarian of the Year. She has been a speaker and seminar leader throughout the state, and has served on the board of directors of many civic and professional organizations. She is a Certified Public Accountant, is Enrolled to represent taxpayers before the IRS, and has her Real Estate License. Member: American Institue of Certified Public Accountants Texas Society of Certifed Public Accountants Texas Association of Financial & Tax Specialists Colleyville and Southlake Chambers of Commerces National Association of Realtors Survivors: husband, William C. Roberts III of Roanoke; son, Ronald Edwards and wife, Jeanette; daughters, Cheri Edwards, Natalie Stricker and husband, Scott, Kathy Hodge and husband,Sandye all of the metroplex; brother, Sonny Taylor and wife, Shirley of Mississippi; grandchildren, Shala Wright and Michael Leinweber of Tuscon, Az, Christal, Caffey, Taylor, Jordan, Krissy and Brendan Stricker and Tyler, Tanner, Andi and Brandi Hodge all of the metroplex, and numerous other family members and friends.
