Lorraine, I have some photos of Oz that I would like for you to see. I am not techny but want to know how to get copies to you, provided you want them. The house on Bingham? Think I could find it. Howie at office? My phone 773.251.2573. My email is [email protected]. You are on my mind a lot lately.

Going through photos (to feign otganization) I run across so many of Oz at his marvelous self - happy... the pics I'd like to share and also see some new little faces, Rose and Howie, and most importantly: yours. Remembering, always,

Dannies

Lorraine, Albert and I wrote a note to you in Summer of 2015. We left it on your door on Bingham because we'd moved and not been able to catch you via phone.

Howie helped us find a place to live because Oz asked him to; Albert and I got home safe (bar closing 5am and I couldn't drive a stick shift BMW) because Oz drove us home; numreous people enjoyed being a part of his life because he was a part of our lives.

Albert snd I were at Heaven on Seven yesterday (2/8) and learned of Oz's passing....

Oh, my dears. I cry still, and only hope that you and he know (still) how much you are a part of our continuing lives to the end of us all....

You didn't have to know Oz for very long before realizing what a great man he was. Funny, kind, bright - every meeting with him was joyful. To his loving family, I say how sorry I am for your loss, but knowing that you have so many beautiful memories to cherish.

Everyone has their own special memories of Oz- he was a great friend and amazing teacher of life. I loved knowing him and being known by him. Chicago hospitality will forever be changed by his legacy. Thank you, Oz- much love to the family always. Martha Baumbush

I first met Oz at Michael Foley's wedding at the old CAC. We became instant friends. As editor of a Chicago-based restaurant trade magazine--"R&I"--I had the privilege of following Oz's career from his wonderful Cognac bar on Sheffield to Harvest on Huron (where we had many fine meals) to the Lakeview Supper Club (where we had more fine dinners and brunches!). Oz was a restaurant pro and wonderful human being. So glad I could share some of his life. Prayers and good wishes to the family.
