Peter V. Dorreman

Peter V. Dorreman, 99, of Vernon, husband of the late May (Maglo) Dorreman, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 9, 2015. Born in Passaic, NJ, he grew up and lived there for most of his life before moving to Vernon ten years ago. Prior to his retirement in 1975, Peter was employed for over 40 years at the former Raybestos Manhatten Rubber Company. After the closing of the rubber company, Peter worked for the State of New Jersey Housing Authority for 10 years. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Army during World War II, serving in the 4th Armored Division, 94th Field Artillery Battalion. He attended St. Luke Church in Ellington. He is survived by his son, Joseph Dorreman and his wife Patricia of Brooksville, FL; a granddaughter, Kristin Dorreman; two step grandchildren, Colleen Deabill, and Thomas Hanley, and his beloved companion, Donna Lippmann of Vernon, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by six brothers and two sisters. Graveside services with military honors will be held on Friday, August 14, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Ellington Center Cemetery, 95 Maple Street, Ellington.
