Richard "Dick" Ignaszewski

Richard William (Dick) Ignaszewski, age 78, of Wells, MN, died Saturday, June 2, 2018 at BridgeWater Assisted Living in Janesville, MN. Visitation will be held Saturday June 9, 2018 from Noon until 3:00 PM at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells, with Interment taking place following visitation in Alma City Cemetery. Dick was born March 30, 1940, the son of William and Violet (Drager) Ignaszewski. He married Beverly Witt April 24, 1961 in Alma City, MN, to this union five children were born: Brian (died in infancy), Jodi, Joel, Jolette, and Jason. The couple later divorced. Dick served in the Army National Guard. He worked most of his life as a farm hand, which he continued after retirement. He also worked at Brown Printing in Waseca before retiring. Dick enjoyed the simple life. His hobbies included playing pool, socializing with friends, playing pull tabs, shaking dice, and being with family. In his later years, he especially liked to sit outside in the sunshine, drinking beer and coffee while BS'ing with anyone who happened to drive or walk by. Dick is preceded in death by his infant son, parents, sisters: Dorothy Gilster and Mildred (Donovan) McClay; brother-in-law:Clarence Taterek; sister-in-law: Bev Ignaszewski and granddaughter: Taylor Ignaszewski. He is survived by his sister: Helen Taterek of Wells, MN; brothers: Roman Ignaszewski of Le Sueur, MN and Roger (Joan) Ignaszewski of Waseca, MN; children: Jodi (Gary) Oppedal of Hartland, MN, Joel Ignaszewski of Wells, MN, Jolette (Scott) Linde of Wells, MN, Jason (Kay) Ignaszewski of Waseca, MN; eight grandchildren: Jade, Jasmine, Shanon, Jesse, Lucas, Walker, Zach, and Jagger; six great-grandchildren: Jordis, Jaxon, Ella, Laila, Logan, and Hayden; along with many nieces, nephews and their families.
