I met Smokey at With a Little Camp. We were both volunteers and he was so helpful my first year. There was so much to learn and understand, but he supported me throughout the week and the following years as well. We stayed in touch a little bit but not enough for me to realize he was ill. May he rest in peace and that his family all of us who knew him cherish our memories of this great guy.

Saw the Obituary of a hero in The Kiilleen Daily Herald. The thing that first caught my attention was the fact of his home being in My Horeb, Wis.and I'm reading his Obituary in a Texas news paper. Now Killeen is right next to Fort Hood Texas, and why am I driven to write such a lengthy note? Well this retired soldier who was born and raised in S/W Wis.served in the Armed Srevices as Richard but never had the honor to meet him, gives a Salute to a Hero and prayers to his family.
