Robert B. Eckwerth

Robert Bernard Eckwerth of Mahopac, NY passed away peacefully in the early morning of Monday June 30 surrounded by his loved ones at the age of 70. He was born in Mount Vernon, NY on October 15, 1943. He retired from Metro North Railroad where he worked for 36 years. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Anna "Nina" Eckwerth, his daughters, Tina, Dawn (Joseph), Jennifer and Marianna, all of Mahopac and his brother William of Beacon, NY. Visiting will be held on Wednesday July 2 from 4-8 pm at Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10 am at St. John The Evangelist Church in Mahopac. Private cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital
