Uncle Bobby was my mother's beloved baby brother, his Sis, Kathleen. I remember my mother's long telephone conversations with him describing the Muskegon snow. From my mother's recall Uncle Bobby sold the first carpet cleaners to the Saudi government as they would tear up there soiled carpets. He maintained friend ships within a country at the time was closed to outsiders. This is what I was told by my deceased mother. He was the greatest fruition of the DeVoursney lineage. One word can describe Charismatic in personality and soul. Sorry for the delayed response.

Bernadette was a neighbor of my wife Mary before Bob married Bernadette. She was Bern's maid of honor at their wedding, and we were friends for many years, about 55 to be exact. My wife Mary died Sept. 10th 1916 and I just heard of Bob's death, from a mutual friend, and I'm going to call Bern when I get back to where I have my phone numbers. My sympathies to your family. From the comments online it appears he had a knack for getting along with people, even in a work setting. I hope the Irish Festival will consider arranging a fitting tribute in March. chuid eile i síocháin (rest in peace).

To the family. I have known your husband and father since he came to work for CLARKE in Muskegon and kept in touch with him until 2016. He was a fine man and helped me in understanding the International side of the business. RIP BOB

I worked with Bob at Studebaker in South Bend from 1963 to 1965. We worked together at Clarke in the International Division for many years beginning in 1972. Bob was a great boss and a true friend. We shared visits and lunches here in Florida after he retired and always enjoyed the time we spent with him and Bernie. We send our condolences to Bernie and the entire Devoursney family. Rest in peace, dear friend. You were one of the best.
