Roger Schnaser Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 10, 2017.
Roger was born on September 9, 1944 and passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2017. Roger was a resident of Poinciana, Florida at the time of passing. Roger graduated from Appleton High School in 1962, went on to Wilmar Junior College and received his BA at the University of Minnesota Morris in 1967 all while enjoying an illustrious basketball career. Through all the people he touched, his humor and love for life was based on the greatest love of all; John 3:16: "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him will have eternal life." Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2017, 10:00 am, at Grace Lutheran Church, 327 Ave C SE, Winter Haven, FL 33880 and in Minnesota on Friday, June 23, 2017, 2:00 pm at Lutheran Church of the Redemption, 927 E Old Shakopee Road, Bloomington 55420. In lieu of flower donations in his memory may be given to either church or the American Cancer Society.

Many of us have fond memories of Roger in Morris MN where he taught physical ed. and health. My own little vignette: I'm pole vaulting for "Olympic day" in the spring and I'm rather timid and unsure about it, but then I suddenly see Roger with his home movie camera, on the other side of the pit, pointed at me! I rose to the occasion and got over the bar! Teachers do inspire.

Linda and family - Darrel and I were surprised and so saddened to read of Roger's passing in Sunday's StarTribune. Among the many things we will remember when we think of Roger are his dedication to his family and his dry sense of humor. He was a joy to be around, and I am sure will be greatly missed. Please know we are thinking of you and send our love and prayers.
