Ruth Gildart Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 15, 2017.
Ruth was born on December 25, 1922 and passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2017. Ruth was a resident of Midland, Michigan at the time of passing. Ruth attended the Hopkins School, which was built in the family apple orchard on land donated by her grandfather. A Memorial Service for Ruth will take place 11 a.m. Thursday, June 15, 2017 from the Memorial Presbyterian Church, 1310 Ashman, with Rev. Wallace H. Mayton III officiating. Rather than flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Memorial Presbyterian Church, Midland King's Daughters Home, or the Men of Music in care of the Midland Foundation.

Kathy, our condolences to you on the loss of your Mom. We have fond memories of our days on Devonshire together.

Ruth and Charles were our very favorite cruising companions. George and I met them 24 years ago on a cruise to China aboard the Ocean Pearl. It was instant friendship, and we later planned 7 more cruises together, plus a few trips to Midland. We enjoyed listening to the Men of Music and playing bridge. Illnesses put a stop to our travels, but not to the wonderful memories I have of the Gildarts and their friends and family.
