Thomas "Tom" A. Katlack, age 76, of Litchfield died at his home on January 11, 2007.  A Mass of Christian Funeral will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 19, 2007 at the Church of St. Gertrude in Forest City with Father Paul Schumacher as celebrant.  Visitation will be from 12:30 PM until the time of service on Friday.  A Knights of Columbus Rosary will be prayed at church prior to the service.  Military honors will be provided by the Nelsan-Horton American Legion Post #104.  Interment will be in St. Gertrude's Cemetery.
Thomas "Tom" Adam Katlack the son of Thomas and Anna Brutka Katlack was born on December 25, 1930 in Newark, NJ.  Tom worked for the American Can Company from 1948 until he entered the service in 1952.  He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 until 1959.  On May 4, 1957, he was united in marriage to Camilla Werner at the Church of Assumption in Washington, DC.  After his military service he continued to work for the American Can Company until April of 1963, when he became a route carrier for the post office.  He was transferred and moved to Litchfield in 1963.  Tom was an active member of St. John's Church and the Church of St. Gertrude, the Knights of Columbus, 3rd and 4th degree, the Disabled American Veterans and the Nelsan-Horton American Legion Post #104.  He enjoyed being active in the community, dressing as the Litchfield Santa Claus for many years, serving as a Blues Baseball board member, helping with the G.A.R. Hall and was active with the Community Theater and Forest City Stockade.  He enjoyed traveling, writing the newsletter for the Knights of Columbus, umpiring for slow-pitch softball, watching the Litchfield Blues Baseball Team, and he especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Tom is survived by his wife, Camilla of Litchfield; children Thomas Katlack of Minneapolis, Michael and Vonnie Katlack of Litchfield, Steven Katlack and wife Meg Frazier of Peoria, IL, and Jean Ahlbrecht of Litchfield; 4 grandchildren, Vahna Ahlbrecht, Kessa Ahlbrecht, Mikalynn Katlack and Duncan Katlack.  He is also survived by his brother Joe and Joyce Katlack of Brooklyn Park, MN, sisters Sister Maryanne Katlack and Judy Nigro both of New Jersey; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Lorraine Korecky, Barbara Kish and brother Stan Katlack.
