Timothy was born on July 15, 1956 and passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2017. Timothy was a resident of Charlotte, North Carolina at the time of passing. There will be a Memorial service held at St. Marks Lutheran Church 1001 Queens Rd. Charlotte NC 28207. on Thursday March 16 at 3pm. Tim?s final resting place will be at Raleigh Memorial Park 7501 Glenwood Ave. Raleigh NC 27612. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Tim?s name to St. Marks Lutheran Church or to a charitable organization of your choice. Carolina Cremation of Charlotte is assisting the Berly family.

I am so terribly sorry to hear this news. Tim attended the Edward Buncombe DAR Chapter Patriot grave marking in Asheville in October 2015, and we greatly appreciated his presence.

Sorry we will miss the Memorial Service. Tim will be missed. He was a great help and companion to me and St. Mark's as I served as Educational Ministry director for 13 years.

Tim was an awesome friend and compatriot to the SAR. He had great respect for Patriots from all eras. He was always willing to help and always willing to listen. It's still difficult to think that Tim has left us.

Tim was a good friend and compatriot in remembrance of our Confederate soldier ancestors. A knowledgeable historian of Revolutionary battles and campaigns, as well as the War of Southern Independence, his keen intellect and charming personality will be sorely missed by his many friends who valued his companionship and shared common interests. I knew Tim through our work with the Catawba Valley Scottish Society and Historic Rural Hill. We shared a love of history and our Scottish ancestry. He was thoughtful, kind and a delight to know. He will be sorely missed. Sending prayers to all family and friends.

Tim was the most knowledgeable Compatriot in the North Carolina SAR. He worked to make our society better every day. His leadership and willingness to assist others made him the "go-to" guy.
