Walter K. Demitris

Walter K. Demitris, 69, of Warren, Ohio, passed away at his residence Dec. 30, 2011. He was born March 7, 1942, in Ashtabula, Ohio, the son of Kay and Helen (Kapsas) Demitris. Walter attended Kent State University and was an avid cartoonist. He enjoyed fishing and reading. He served in the U.S. Navy on the USS BLANDY during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Mr. Demitris was a Real Estate Broker and owned Demitris Real Estate. Surviving are his wife, Kathleen "Kitty" Demitris, Warren; a daughter, Tracy Clark of Long Island, N.Y.; a son, Jason Demitris of Warren; a son-in-law, Alan Johnson of Charlottesville, Va.; and four grandchildren: George and Michael Gracia, Emma Robertson, and Adam Clark. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Denise Demitris-Johnson. A memorial service will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 5, 2012 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home.
