Zenaida Sigua Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 31, 2010.
Zenaida “Ima Pedroche Sigua Zenaida passed away peacefully in her home May 31, 2010. Ima, as known to family and friends, was born in Tarlac Philippines on Aug 19, 1927. She married Manuel Sigua and had 9 children: Carole (Eddie) Pangilinan, Corazon (Juanito) Espinosa, Carlos Sigua (Deceased), Celeste (Gordon) Galbraith, Guy (Rose) Sigua, Fides (June) Bondoc, Teena (Steve) Jensen, Cindy (Robbie) Elkins, and Randy (Karie) Sigua. By 1979, the majority of the family had immigrated to Orem, UT, where Ima spent the rest of her life with her many family and friends. Ima made many friends and loved to travel to see many national sites. She loved nature and all it had to offer, watching the birds, animals, and even growing her own garden. She had the best sense of humor as many people have experienced and is well loved by family, friends, co-workers and others who came into her life. She loved people and enjoyed attending many social events, as well as entertaining in her home with her good Philippine cuisine and stories. Ima, in her words, was “always for the underdog. She wanted everyone to feel wanted and to be a part of something grand. The people whose lives she touched were truly blessed. We are all better people because of her example. Ima was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Ima is survived by her 3 brothers, 8 children, 26 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and one very special friend, Rod Carter. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 4, 2010, at the LDS Stake Center, 1075 S. Geneva Rd, Orem, UT. Family and friends may call Thursday evening at 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Walker Mortuary, 85 East 300 South, Provo, UT, and Friday morning from 9:45-10:45 a.m., prior to services at the church. Interment will be held at Orem City Cemetery.
