Irene Baker BLOUNTVILLE, Tenn. Irene Baker, 72, went to be with the Lord on Friday July 22, 2011, from Indian Path Medical Center in Kingsport, Tenn. She was a daughter of the late John S.Cotter and Etta Katherine Montgomery Cotter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sons, Mark Barger and David Baker. She was a native of the Bristol area and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. Irene is survived by her husband, John Thomas Baker; son, Jonathan Baker of Bristol, Tenn.; sister, Sue Hicks and husband, Jim, of Blountville; brother, Clinton Cotter and wife, Clara, of Kingsport; special friends, Keith, Lynette and Kindra Thomas; step-daughters, Rebecca Hanks and Bobbi Baker; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2:45 p.m. Sunday, July 24, 2011, at Oakley-Cook Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 3 with Dr. Stan Anderson officiating. The committal service and interment will be held on Monday, July 25, 2011 at 11 a.m. in Tri-Cities Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Liberty Baptist Church Choir, 112 Walnut Hill Road, Bristol TN 37620.
