Marvin Sheets Obituary

SUGAR GROVE – Marvin Dean "Cheat" Sheets, age 55, passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2006, in the Smyth County Community Hospital.
He was born in Smyth County to the late Fred and Leona Rich Sheets and was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Cynthia Gay Sheets.
Mr. Sheets was a decorated Army veteran, having served in the Vietnam War and was a member of the VFW Post 4667 in Marion.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Tina and Calvin Hinchey, Sugar Grove, and Melissa and Sam Pennington, Troutdale; one grandson, Kenny Hinchey; girlfriend, Anita Hall, Sugar Grove; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Sherman "Buffalo" Sheets, Sugar Grove, Raymond and Katherine Sheets, Sugar Grove, Joe and Jean Sheets, Princeton, W.Va., and Charles W. Sheets, Beckley, W.Va.; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Martha and Gene Morrell, Bristol Tennessee, Gin Parks, Sugar Grove, Rebecca Bise, Chilhowie, and Connie and Jeff Hemphill, Levelland, Texas; special brother-in-law, Jerry Sheets, Troutdale; and several nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and grand-nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2006, at 8 p.m. from the Bradley's Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Ken Riggins and the Rev. Larry Peake officiating. Graveside services will be held on Friday morning, June 16, 2006, at 11 a.m., at Pugh Cemetery in Teas, with military honors rendered by VFW Post 4667. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family at www.bradleysfh.com.
