BETTY RUTH AVERY-JONES February 07, 1938 August 09, 2016 Betty passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on August 9th 2016 entering the Pearly Gates to be reunited with the love of her life, Stanley. Betty was the second child and had nine siblings. This was the beginning of her becoming the "Boss". Born in Memphis Tennessee, she came to Pasco with her family in 1954. She began her working career at Hanford in June 1966 as a clerk in the Federal Building. Later she transferred to Operations and Support Maintenance as well as the Hanford Fire Department. In 1996, at the age of 58, she and Stanley retired and traveled in their motorhome as well as by train, which was her favorite way to travel. She enjoyed and lived life to the fullest. She left no experience or statement undone or unsaid. Betty was known for her sense of style and she was always flawless. Her outfit for the day, nails, shoes, hair was always classy and on point. Every day was a blessing and special occasion to her, thus she dressed up every day. Rarely did she forget her rings, having a ring on at least eight fingers, because she loved her jewelry. Her passion was shopping and more shopping. Betty loved her family and friends. She would do anything for her family and friends and not expect anything in return. She prided herself on being independent and telling it straight without any sugar coating from Betty Avery-Jones. August 9th was bittersweet for our family. We lost our mother, grandma, sister, friend and our Matriarch. We are at peace knowing that she's in the arms of Jesus and together again with Papa. Forever in our hearts and missing her is daughter Sabrina (Manuel) Esparza, grandchildren Alyssia Esparza, Gordy, Tyrome, Benita, Miguel Ingram, Andrea Baltzar, Ricky Ingram Jr, Arteka Thornton, Darlene Ingram, Derick Perot, 16 great grandchildren and a special friend until the end, her first love and first husband Jim Ingram. She in preceded in death by husband Stanley Jones, parents Willie and Letroy Avery, children Ricky and Debbie Ingram, siblings Addie Ransom, Howard, Raymond, Danny and Robert Avery, nephews George and Antonio Johnson. Graveside services will be held September 03, 2016 at City View Cemetery in Pasco, WA at 1:00 pm. Special thanks to Morning Star Baptist Church family, her Hospice team Kristy S, Sabrina and Ann, and Dr. Kahirimbanyi and staff for their care and compassion.
