DAVID JOHN WILBUR Mueller's Greenlee Funeral Home David John Wilbur, 80, died Saturday, June 10, 2017 at the Hospice House of Kennewick, WA. He leaves his wife of 36 years, Carleen (Lagasse) Wilbur; his sons, David Wilbur Jr., Eleazar Salinas Wilbur, Norman Wilbur and his wife Josefina Wilbur; his daughters, Renee Wilbur, Elizabeth Wilbur and Laura Wilbur; his brothers, JR. Wilbur (Joann), Ray Wilbur (Peggy); His sisters, Mildred Hilliard (Ken), Olive Ruff (Dean), Irene Hickman (Francis), Arlene Gaeth (Harry); grandchildren, James, Brenda, Krystle, Haeley, Brianna, David, Mason, Mia, Rosebell and Great Grandchildren. Born in Ashue, WA the son of Claude Wilbur, Arlene Rose (Hoptowit) Wilbur. Preceded in death by his son Todd Wilbur; his Parents and grandparents David Wilbur, Olive Wilbur, William Hoptowit, Emily Hoptowit; his siblings, Margie Martin, Norman Wilbur, Claudine Dye, Theresa Martin. In his early years, he went to Pasco High School where he excelled in football and holds a running back record for Pasco High's football team. He received a full scholarship to WSU where he was later drafted to the NFL. After graduating from Pasco High School in 1956 He took time off before college and joined the Navy reserves out of high school. Later attending WSU for a BA in health and education and then UW for a Bachelor's degree in science. Dave was a member of Yakama Nation Tribe and worked for Northwest Indian Fisheries. He was on the Governor's forest practices board for four years. Later moving back to Pasco, WA and retired from Hanford in 1999. Dave's favorite pastimes were fishing, picking huckleberries, hunting and camping with his family in the mountains. Viewing is Friday June 16th 5pm-8pm. Services are Saturday June 17th 11am to 2pm. Both will be held at Mueller's Greenlee Funeral Home in Pasco, WA. Burial will be held on Monday, June 19 at 11am at Reservation Community Memorial Park in Wapato, WA.
