DONALD ALLEN PIERCE Einan's at Sunset Donald Allen Pierce passed away peacefully on September 18, 2017 at the age of 83. Don was born in Seattle, WA on August 29, 1934 where he lived with his sister Doreen and parents Don and Bernice Pierce and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1952. He attended college at Central Washington University from 1952-1956 where he met his future wife Patti the first week of school at a dance. Don participated in ROTC and excelled in sports earning a spot on the All-Conference Football team several times and catching the eye of the NFL. Don still holds the record in track for the 100 yard dash and was inducted into the CWU Athletic Hall of Fame in 2010 for his many accomplishments. In 1956, Don married the love of his life, Patti Cole, and passing up multiple offers from the NFL, is where he decided to take on the career with United States Air force as a Second Lieutenant. Don and Patti raised four children while traveling with them around the United States and Germany and Spain. Don served away from his family in places such as Korea, Vietnam, Iceland and Egypt. Don retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1981 and settled down in Richland. During his retirement Don pursued his passion for golf, enjoyed drinks on the patio with Patti and watched his grandkids grow up during barbeques. Don was a man of respect, a man of few words and a man of praise when earned. He was admired by all who met him and his humor and words of wisdom will be greatly missed. Don is survived by his wife, Patti; his sister, Dorene; his children, Mark, Denise, Scott, Janice and their spouses; 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and to far many in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews to mention. A Graveside service will be held on Monday, September 25, 2017 at 2:00pm at Sunset Gardens in Richland, 915 ByPass Hwy in Richland with a Reception to follow at Einan's Sunset Chapel.
