DOROTHY PLUMB Einan's at Sunset On July 5th, 2016, the Lord welcomed our wonderful mother to His Kingdom in Heaven. She was born in Memphis, TN in 1930 and moved to Richland in 1944 where her father was working at Hanford. She spent her teen years in Richland. Due to an illness as a young girl she gained the strength and determination that carried her through many ups and downs throughout her life. She met and married our father in 1953 and together they had five children. Mom was a stay-at-home mom for many years, and it was a comfort to her children that she would be home when we got there. Eventually, mom started working for the Richland Library, which she loved since she was avid reader - rumor has it that she was born with a book in her hand. Reading was her favorite pastime, along with listening to our music, and getting up and dancing around the living room with us. After her years at the library, she worked in retail, and then headed out to Hanford's WPPSS project, and later as a secretary at Fluor Hanford as well as United Nuclear. After she retired, she spent a lot of time with her children, and grandchildren, traveling with them to various places. We were very fortunate to get to spend so many great years with her. It was a joy that mom got to see her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren grow. She really enjoyed being around the little ones; they always made her laugh and brightened her life. She will be missed so much by all of us, and we are thankful that we were blessed with such a great mom, grandmother, and friend. She is survived by three of her children, along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Jackie Chapin (children, Shaura, Jessica, Ryan and Andrea); Danny Plumb (children Lacey, Lexi, and Levi) and Joni Weil (children Nichole and Kristen). She was preceded in death by our father, Jack Plumb, two sons, Curtis Duke Plumb, and Darrell Plumb, granddaughter, Stephanie Weil; sister, Pat Trent; brother, Donald McCrarey, and her parents Cecil Mcrarey, Ruth McCrarey, and step-mother Evelyn McCrarey. On a personal note from me, I love you and will miss my mother, best friend, and the only person who ever called me "missy". I love you mom, and will see you in my dreams along with others that have passed from my life. Thank you mom, you were the BEST! Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 10 from 2:00pm-5:00pm at Events at Sunset in Richland. The Funeral Service will be held Monday, July 11 at 11:00am at Events at Sunset followed by the graveside at Sunset Gardens in Richland. The family would like for you to join them for a reception after the graveside at Events at Sunset. Express your thoughts and memories on our online Guestbook at www.einansatsunset.com
