EVELYN ADDIE ROBERTS Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home Evelyn Addie (McKelvy) Roberts, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by loved ones, on Friday August 26th, 2016. She was 91 years old. Evelyn was born on October 20th, 1924. She was a life-long resident of Kenne-wick, Washington and had 4 siblings. For a short time in her early years she worked for Dupont at the Hanford site until she met the love of her life, Elgin Roberts. They were married for over 50 years and during that time they built a wonderful life together. They had three children, Sharon, Lorraine and Paul. They had several grandkids, great grandkids and many close friends. They were often referred to by most as the "Pillars of the family". Evelyn loved to entertain and their house was the place to be. Often surrounded by their family and close friends listening to music, playing cards and telling stories, she made the atmosphere and the people around her feel welcome. One of her great joys in life was baking cookies and sewing clothes and making quilts for her grandkids. Evelyn was a very temperate person and she was kind and giving especially to children. So many people loved and respected her. She left a huge impact on many lives, particularly her family. In the fall of 1998 her husband passed away. Her grandson, Terry, moved in with her and continued to care for her until the very end. Evelyn lived a long and wonderful life, full of love and joy. She left us with such loving memories that we will carry always until we see her again. She is preceded in death by her husband Elgin Roberts, her daughter Loraine and son Paul Roberts. She is survived by her daughter Sharon Cole (Tommy), grandchildren Melinda French (Curtis), Lynna French, Terry Preston (Dori), Ben Roberts (Stephany), Jennifer Brady, Paula Barnett numerous great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. We would like to give a special thanks to her incredible caregivers, Sue Barnett, Brandy Wisler, Samantha Draisey and her great granddaughter Lexi Amsel. Special thanks to the Chaplaincy, Palliative Care and her Doctor Emad Khieran. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 2nd at 2:00pm at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 1401 S. Union Street, Kennewick. The family invites you to sign their online tribute wall at www.muellersfuneral homes.com.
