GEORGE H. SAHLER Einan's at Sunset George H. Sahler passed away at home on Saturday, August 13, 2016, surrounded by family. He was born February 21, 1918; in Joliet, IL, the son of Floyd J. Sahler and Elizabeth Allen Sahler with an older brother, Allen. In 1939 he received his BA degree in Business from the University of Chicago and married Mary Louise McManus on June 14, 1941. He enlisted in the US Navy in January 1943, and taught navigation to midshipman at Notre Dame, served as a lieutenant with the USS Midway and was discharged in January 1946. He was hired by General Electric that year and after several assignments and moves, was transferred to Hanford in September 1957. Following the departure of General Electric, he was employed by Isochem, Arco, and Rockwell in employee and public relations. After the death of his first wife, he married Margaret Prues in September 1991, who passed away thirteen years later in August 2004. George loved golf and played at Farmington, Tri-City Country Club and was a charter member of Meadow Springs Country Club. He played golf into his nineties and was an ardent duplicate bridge player for the last 12 years. He is survived by daughter Nancy Lee Sahler Byerts (Dr. William) of Fort Myers, FL, stepdaughter Holly Prues Carlson (Robert) of Redmond, WA, stepson, Louis J. Prues (Barbara) of Grosse Pointe Park, MI, stepson John Prues (Troy) of Cardiff by the Sea, CA, grandchildren Michael E. Byerts (Tini) of Los Angeles, CA, Laura Carlson Porcincula (Shawn) of Kirkland, WA, Sarah Prues Hecker (Todd) of Grosse Pointe Park, MI, and Joshua Prues (Louise) of Denver, CO, and seven great-grandchildren. A service of remembrance will be held Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 4:00pm at Meadows Springs Country Club in Richland. Donations in lieu of flowers may be given to a .
