JAMES STEVEN KONYU James Steven Konyu, of Kennewick, WA passed away on August 22, 2016. At the age of 67, while doing one of his favorite activities, camping with his wife. He passed suddenly and unexpectedly from a heart attack. Born in Detroit Michigan on the 12th of January 1949, he was raised alongside his sisters Barbara and Bonnie and brother Jeff. At the outset of the Vietnam War, Jim enlisted in the United States Air Force, answering his nation's needs. After his tour of duty, Jim met and married the love of his life, Mary-Lynn. They raised three loving children together. Jim's love of his family was a singular defining gift. Ever involved, Jim engaged lovingly in Indian Guides and Boy Scouts (helping his sons achieve the highest honor-Eagle Scout) for years with his children. Ever a pillar in the community; he was extremely active in his Church, and a dedicated member of LVA, was always giving humbly to those in need. His razor wit was always quick with a quirky joke and/or anecdote, lighting up the faces of those around him. He is survived by his wife Mary-Lynn Konyu; and his son's David Richard Ernest Konyu, Jason Steven Louis Konyu, and Michael James Konyu; beautiful daughter in laws and a parcel of energetic grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church at 2505 W 27th Ave Kennewick, WA 99337 on September 3, 2016 at 10:00am with a fellowship to follow. Jim wished that donations be made to Union Gospel Mission in-lieu of flowers.
