JOANNA G. EASTERDAY March 3, 1957 - July 5, 2016 Joanna Gayle Search Easterday, of Basin City, died Tuesday July 5 in Boise, Idaho. She was born in Caldwell, Idaho on March 3, 1957 to Robert and Sue Search. She graduated from Caldwell High School, where she was active in drill team, in 1975 and then attended the Col lege of Idaho for three years. On November 5, 1979 she married Bill Easterday in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. They settled on a farm in Basin City, Washington and raised seven children. Joanna was passionate about education and she was an active parent in the local school district. She was proud that all seven of her children attended college, including Santa Clara University, Gonzaga University, Washington State University, University of Washington, University of New Mexico, San Jose State University, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and University of Notre Dame, of which she was a huge fan of the football team. She enjoyed cooking and gardening and was also an avid reader and a member of a local book club. A lover of music, she encouraged all of her children to play musical instruments, including the piano. She was interested in Irish music and history and traveled to Ireland with her husband Bill in 1997, kissing the Blarney Stone on her 40th birthday. She attended St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church for over thirty years and was involved in the Altar Society at the parish. Joanna is survived by her husband Bill, her daughters Shelece, Noelle, Ashton (Chad), Shaelah (Caleb), Alexa, and Michaela, her son Jared (Donna), one granddaughter Elise, her mother Sue Smith, and her sister Robin Della Maggiore. She was preceded in death by her father Robert, her uncles Philip and Donald, her cousin Steve, all of her grandparents, and her parents-in-law Ervin and Elsie Easterday. She also leaves behind eight nephews, eleven nieces, numerous cousins, and many friends in the community. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 9th at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Eltopia, Washington. A burial service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, July 11th at Lower Boise Cemetery in Parma, Idaho.
