JOHN R. YOUNG John R. Young, 92, of Pasco died February 22, 2017. He was born in Portland and grew up on a ranch in central Oregon. He moved to the Tri-Cities in 1948. He was a nuclear engineer at Hanford. He was a member of many technical societies, the Mid-Columbia Symphony, The Inter-Mountain Alpine Club, The International Folk Dancers of Richland and Central United Protestant Church. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn and children: Virginia Young, Nenana, Alaska, Mike Young, Fairbanks, Alaska, Alice Young (Neil Tyson), New York City, Eric Young (Patty), Boise, Idaho, Debbie Michelson (Jeremy), Kennewick and Craig Young (Crystal), Tucson, Arizona. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and numerous nephews and nieces. There will be a memorial service held Saturday, May 27 at 1:00 pm at Central United Protestant Church, 1124 Stevens Dr., Richland.
