JOSHUA THOMAS SACKETT Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home Joshua Thomas Sackett, 28, was born April 3, 1988 in Pasco, Washington. He passed from this life on January 19, 2017 at his home in Pasco. Josh attended St Joseph's elementary/middle school and went on to graduate from South-ridge High School in 2006. Josh developed many lifelong friendships during his school years and enjoyed playing basketball, football, baseball and soccer. After high school, he went on to become a journeyman in the Local 598, Plumbers and Steamfitters Union. He very much embraced his union career and was proud to call himself a pipefitter. Josh loved to explore the Pacific Northwest, hiking and camping with his best friend Kent, his dad, and brothers, Theron and Bobby. He enjoyed working on his trucks over the years, particularly his first, a 1967 Chevy C20 bucket of rust he found overgrown with weeds in a field. Josh also loved spending time with family fishing at Priest Lake, the San Juan Islands and Alaska. He enjoyed growing up surrounded by cousins who provided a sense of love and belonging and whom many called "Uncle". He was compassionate and selfless towards his family and treated all with kindness. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends and his loss is felt deeply by all. St Joseph's Parish provided Josh with a community of support and a foundation in God. Later in life, Josh's battle to find peace in this world lead him to the Reformers Unanimous Discipleship Program in Rockford, Illinois where he was baptized again and received Jesus Christ as his Savior. During this time, he found a renewed sense of peace and embraced his family and the support of his friends and community. Joshua is survived by his parents, Tom and Treva Sackett; sister and brother-in-law Stephanie and Aaron Royer; brother Theron Sackett; honorary brother Kent LaRiviere; niece and nephew Karol & Emery Royer. He is also survived by grandparents Regina Stredwick, Elsie Sackett, Terry and Marilyn Pellecchia, and many uncles, aunts and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Robert Stredwick and Norman Sackett, and younger brother, Bobby Sackett. Viewing will be held Tuesday, January 24, 2017, 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Recitation of the Rosary at 5:30 p.m., at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 1401 S. Union Street, Kennewick. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, January 25th, 2:00 p.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 520 S. Garfield St., Kennewick.
