JOYCE YVONNE NELSON Joyce Yvonne Nelson passed away on September 29th 2016 at 1:30 AM. Tom, her husband of 44 years, 6 months and 13 days and their oldest son Arthur, were at her side when she passed. Joyce was born in Manchester NH on March 12th 1944. She lived in New Hampshire around the Manchester area until she moved to one of the family homes in Orlando, Florida where she meet her husband Tom. They were married in Valdosta Georgia on March 16th 1972. After moving back to NH, Joyce attended NH Technical Institute where she earned an Associate degree in Hotel and Motel Management. She worked for a National hotel chain as Restaurant manager and Function coordinator. She loved her work and was rewarded with several awards for leading the North East Coast in sales. Tom, Joyce and their two sons, Arthur and Allen moved to San Diego in 1976 where Joyce started her own business doing Arts and crafts specializing in holiday decorations. Her work was beyond compare. Her talent and love of arts and crafts showed in her designs and her work. Joyce and Tom moved to the Tri-Cities in April of 1995 to give support to Toms' sister during her fight against Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. A fight that she lost in August of 1995. They decided to stay to take advantage of the quiet, peaceful way of life in the Tri-Cities. They bought a home in Pasco, a home that Joyce referred to as her 'little yellow house'. She loved her home and insisted on staying home during HER fight with Pancreatic Cancer. She lost the fight on August 29th. She was a fighter all her life. She fought very hard but the cancer was too aggressive. She will be missed. She was a very caring and loving person. She was my wife, my lover, my best friend and my reason for living for the last 44 and a half years. We will meet again when our lord calls me home to be with her and the rest or our families and friends. Joyce's Funeral is being held at the Columbia Community Church at 150 Gage Blvd. Richland, on October 22nd 2016 at 2:00 PM.
