KATHRYN M. RASCH Kathryn Marie Rasch was born March 24, 1977, in Minneapolis, to Rev. Arthur and Joy Rasch, and on the day of her baptism the family received word of their call to ministry in Seattle. Kathy attended Amazing Grace Lutheran School in Seattle, Bethlehem Lutheran School in Kenne-wick, and graduated from Kamaiakin High School. Following graduation from Seattle Pacific University, Kathy toured in countries of the Pacific rim and taught English as a Second Language in South Korea, landing in Seoul on 9-11, 2001. "Miss Kathy" taught 8th grade at Star of the Sea Catholic School in Honolulu, and enjoyed trips to Washington D.C. with her students. She returned to Seattle, and then moved to D.C. where she continued her teaching career. She passed away April 13, 2017, in Baltimore, Maryland, under Hospice care. Kathy is survived by her parents, Arthur and Joy Rasch, by sister Christine, living in Texas, sister Stephanie and nephew Jeremy of Seattle, sister Bethany and husband Randal Cates, nieces Rhiannon and Arabella and nephew Spencer, of Kennewick, and by brother Timothy and niece Kinsey, of Oregon City. She is also mourned by her aunt, Mary Portman, of Enterprise, Alabama, and by her God parents, Ben and Nancy Espeland, of Winnebago, Minnesota. Our family will always be grateful to Tom Holroyd who provided such tender care and support for Kathy during the final years of her life. A celebration of Kathy's life and God's eternal love will be held Saturday, April 29, 1:00 p.m., at Kennewick First Lutheran Church, 418 N. Yelm, Kennewick, WA 99336. Our family encourages memorial gifts to Kennewick First Lutheran Church and to Chaplaincy Health Care Hospice, 1480 Fowler St., Richland, WA 99352. "Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28.
