LAURA COLLIER Laura (Laurie) Collier passed into the arms of our Lord on April 27, 2016 after a seven year battle with metastatic breast cancer. Laura was born on June 17th, 1944 to Oliver and Orel Dilling. She loved growing up on the farm with her sister, Lois, and brother, Jim. She also loved learning and reading books from the bookmobile. She learned about slavery and civil rights and as a teenager, Dr. Martin Luther King became her hero. Laura attended college at Pacific Lutheran University and graduated from Whitworth in Spokane with an education degree. She taught high school English for four years and returned later to the far-spread Franklin County School District to work for sixteen years as a speech, language and hearing assistant. Laura married Terry Collier in 1967. Their son, Bryan, was born in October, 1971. Terry and Laura lived in Connell for 35 years and moved to west Pasco after Terry's retirement. Laura and her family loved the forests, all animal and supported wildlife and wilderness areas with financial gifts throughout the years. Laura was preceded in death by her father, Oliver Dilling, mother, Orel Workman Dilling and brother, Teddy Oliver Dilling. She is survived by her precious husband, Terry Collier, sister, Lois Rosenbladt and brother, Jim Dilling and his wife, Ella, dear son, Bryan, and his wife Alesia, beloved granddaughters, Cheyenne Ortiz and Desarae Collier, daughter, Tonya, and grandson Keith.
