LAVERE IDELL ROBINSON FILLMORE LaVere Idell Robinson Fillmore was born July 27, 1933 in Lethbridge Alberta Canada to Hanna and Harry Robinson. LaVere and her twin sister LaVon were the second set of twins born in the family of 10 children. LaVere grew up in Raymond Canada, spending summers on the family farm on the Milk River and winters in Raymond to attend school. On the farm she cooked for the crews, and drove truck in harvest, and enjoyed horseback riding. LaVere and LaVon played high school basketball and with their team won the Alberta provincial championship in 1952. LaVere played basketball in college as well and scored exactly 100 points in the Alberta intermediate championship tournament in 1955. LaVere graduated as an RN from the Galt School of Nursing in Lethbridge in 1955 and began her 50 year nursing career in Colorado Springs where she met Joe Fillmore and was married in 1956, and was later sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS temple. LaVere and Joe had 5 children, eventually settling in Othello and then Kennewick. In 1977, LaVere became the sole parent to raise her 4 children, and she worked hard as a single parent to provide for her children, including their college and missionary service. LaVere loved nursing. It brought her much satisfaction, fulfillment and joy in serving others. LaVere especially enjoyed supporting Labor and Delivery in the KGH Birthing Center. LaVere was an active, faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints her whole life. In her retirement years she enjoyed quilting, spoiling grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was a very competitive cribbage player. LaVere was greatly loved and will be missed. LaVere was preceded in death by her parents Hannah and Harry Robinson, her 9 siblings Stuart, Lillian, Harry, Jean, Jeanette, Art, Larry, Donna, and beloved twin LaVon, her son Garrick Fillmore and grandson Benjamin Baker. LaVere is survived by her 4 children, JoLynn Baker (Sam) of Kennewick, Wendy Scrimsher (Michael) of Burbank Hts., Mischelle Russell (John) of Kennewick and Robinson Fillmore (Michelle) of Richland, 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the LDS church at 4445 S Olympia in Kennewick at 10 am on July 5th, with viewing prior to the service and at Mueller's Funeral Home at 1401 S Union in Kennewick from 5 to 7 pm on July 3.
