LINDA LOU WESTERFIELD (APRIL 5, 1947- DECEMBER 13, 2016) AND GORDON DALE WESTERFIELD (DECEMBER 21, 1943- JUNE 22, 2017) Linda was born on April 5, 1947 in Rushville, Nebraska to Tom L. Day and Doris L. (Beggan) Holcroft. She graduated from Kiona-Benton High School in Benton City in 1965 and was a retired school bus driver for the Kiona-Benton School District. Gordon was born December 21, 1943 in Pasco, Washington to Robert W. and Lola (Bridges) Westerfield. He graduated from Kiona-Benton High School in Benton City in 1962 and was a retired papermaker for Boise Cascade. Both were lifelong residents of Benton City where they met, married, and raised their family. Linda and Gordon were huge Ki-Be fans, supporting the athletic programs long after their children had graduated. Together they were a great team, and their individual strengths complemented one another. Linda was known for her charismatic personality and love for her children and grandchildren. During her career, she was like a second mom to the students who rode her bus. Gordon was a hardworking man who was proud of his family. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and passed that passion onto his children. Linda is survived by her sister, Glenda (David) and Gordon by his siblings, William and Roberta, and by daughter Nicole, sons Kirk (Amy), Darren (Dawn), Robert, and Marshall, twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild. The family would like to thank the nurses and attendants at Richland Rehabilitation Center for their care and comfort provided to Linda and Gordon. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 19, 2017, 1:00 PM at Kiona-Benton High School in Benton City, with a potluck reception following at the American Legion Hall, 908 Jane Avenue, Benton City. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Tri-City Cancer Center.
