LOLA MAY HERRON Columbia Memorial Funeral Chapel Lola May Herron, our dear Mother, returned to her loved ones on the other side of the veil on April 6, 2016. Mom was born March 29, 1924, in Salt Lake City, UT, to May and Rulon Knowles. She was the first of six children. She moved with her family to Alameda, CA in 1935 where she later met and married the love of her life, George Herron, in the Salt Lake LDS temple for time and all eternity. Mom and Dad moved from CA to Pasco, WA in 1955 where they pioneered 114 acres in the Columbia Basin farming community, became the mother of seven children. Lola was an aide at Edwin Markham Elementary for 24 years. Several of her grandchildren attended the school where she was known as "Grandma" to all the students. She was one of the first EMT's in the Columbia Basin ambulance service. Lola was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many callings. She was a gifted teacher, singer, and poet. Lola is survived by her seven children, Sandra Boleware, Kennewick, Vicky Cornelius, Pasco, Georgene (Charles) Ady, Layton, UT, Marele Lee (Dennis) Thorne, American Fork, UT, Dennis (April) Herron, Pasco, Paul (Evelyn) Herron, St George, UT, and Michael (Virginie) Herron, Tumwater, WA, a sister, Delores Pike of Calabasas, CA, and her blessing of 32 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren! Mom was preceded in death by her sweetheart of 40 years, George Herron, her parents, May and Rulon Knowles, her sisters, Jean and Marilyn, and her brothers, Robert and Donald. Mother, we love you, miss you, and thank you for loving and teaching us. See you again in Heaven A visitation is scheduled Friday, April 15, 2016, 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, at Columbia Memorial Chapel, 224 S 24th Ave, Pasco, WA. A funeral service, Saturday, April 16, 2016, 11:00 am, at the Columbia Basin LDS Chapel, 7750 Eltopia Rd, Pasco, WA. A graveside dedication, Saturday, April 16, 2016, approximately 2:00 pm, at Columbia Memorial Gardens, 224 S 24th Ave, Pasco, WA.
