LAURA LOUISE MILLER Mueller's Greenlee Funeral Home Laura Louise Miller passed away at the age of 90 on April 24, 2017 in Richland, Washington. She was born on May 15, 1926 in Faulkton, South Dakota to Charles G and Frankie Louise (Barrickman) Grigg. At a young age the family moved to Pasco where her parents established Grigg's Department Store. She attended junior high and high school in Pasco and graduated in 1944. She was proud of the fact that she was the first drum majorette at Pasco High. She also attended University of Washington. Later she worked in Spokane where she met Walter John Miller. They were married in Pasco on August 11, 1946. Laura worked as a telephone operator at Hanford and then later started working with her father at Grigg's. She became a buyer and enjoyed her numerous trips to New York and California. Later they opened up Laura's Jewelry and Gifts inside Grigg's Department Store. Walt and Laura loved their association and traveling with the Shriners and Dirty Dozen. They made many lifetime friends. Laura loved gardening, crossword puzzles, cross-stitching and never knew a stray cat. Laura was preceded in death by her parents, Charles G. and Frankie L. Grigg, her husband, Walter J. Miller and son, Gail. She is survived by her sons, Guy (Susan) Miller, and Gary (Karen) Miller. Grandchildren Troy Miller, Tracie (Lance) Hobson, Shelby (Justin) McClendon and Megan (Darrell) Welch and Kevin Salisbury. Eleven great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews and her brother, Charles F. Grigg. Viewing will be Tuesday, May 2, from 6-8 pm at Mueller's Greenlee Funeral Home, Pasco. Another viewing will be 45 minutes prior to the Wednesday, Memorial Service on May 3 at 11 am at Mueller's Greenlee, Pasco. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Shriners Children's Hospital or the Benton-Franklin Humane Society.
