MARTELL LEWIS PETERMANN MARTELL LEWIS PETERMANN, a resident of Bentonville, Arkansas, was born September 5, 1954 in Powell, Wyoming, a son of Nelse Walter and Norma Elaine (Martell) Petermann. He departed this life Wednesday, June 30, 2016 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, at the age of 61 years. Martell was greatly loved by his family and friends and will be missed immensely. He will be remembered as a very caring and fun-spirited individual, an amazing athlete, and a wonderful storyteller. Martell lived most of his life in Kennewick, Washington, where he was raised and where he helped raise his family. In his early years, he worked on the family farm while exceling in football and track, and then graduated from Kennewick High School in 1972. Martell attended the University of Texas in Austin on a track (javelin) scholarship and graduated in 1976 with a Bachelor of Business Administration and Management. He was a very successful business man and was enjoying his new position as a Business Process Analyst in Bentonville, Arkansas. Martell was especially fond of this earth's beauty, particularly of Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming, Glacier National Park in Montana, and he was enjoying discovering nearby Eureka Springs in Arkansas. Martell is survived by his three children: son, Tyler Petermann of Kennewick, Washington; daughter, Amanda (Bryan) Whitehead and granddaughter, Zoey, of Kennewick, Washington; and daughter, Tasha Petermann of San Francisco, California. He is also survived by his sister, Patricia (Carl) Simon of Lynnwood, Washington; sister, Pamela (Ron) McBride of Walla Walla, Washington; sister, Paula Ray of Linden, California; and brother, Daniel Smith of Kennewick, Washington, several nieces and nephews, other family and friends. Martell was preceded in death by his parents, Nelse Walter and Norma Elaine Petermann and one brother, Nelse Petermann Jr. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 20, at Desert Springs Covenant Church in Pasco, Washington located at 9915 W Argent Rd.
