She retired due to Kroon's Disease. While struggling with her weight she turned to TOPS (Take off Pounds Sensibly). She learned to take the weight off, and with help from friends and family she made it to her goal in 2012. She became queen runner up for the state of Washington after losing a total of 140 lbs. Peggy was an active member of the Prairie Shufflers Square Dance Club for 34 years. She held several offices such as; President, Secretary, Treasurer, decoration committee, and rental agent until 2007.
