RICHARD "DICK" LOHDEFINCK Einan's at Sunset Richard "Dick" Loh-definck, a long-time resident of Richland, Washington, peacefully returned to his loving Heavenly Father's arms on Father's Day, June 18, 2017. Dick was born on January 3, 1933 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Evea and Frank Loh-efinck. They moved to Richland when Dick was eight years old and Dick has lived in Richland since then. Dick attended Richland High School and served in the US Navy from 1952 to 1956. Dick met Jane, his wife of 63 years in Boston during his service in the Navy. The have four daughters, Pam (John) Ott of Colton, Oregon; Linda Lohdefinck of University Place, Washington; Jacquelyn Lohdefinck of Draper, Utah; and daughter Darlene Peterson who passed away in 2015. They have five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Dick and Jane also loved and cared for 68 foster babies. Dick was a retired police captain of 30 years with the Richland Police Department and was also Special Investigator for 10 years at Hanford. He loved hunting, fishing and just being content at home. He and his wife Jane traveled several times to Hawaii. A special joy for Dick was serving as a temple worker for the Church of Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS). He and Jane served together for 25 years at the Seattle and Columbia River temples. He also enjoyed serving at LDS's girls' camp. Dick enjoyed time with family on the Washington and Oregon Coast and spending time in the park. He loved animals, and especially squirrels and birds. Dick is survived by his wife and eternal companion, Jane; daughters, Pamela Ott (John) of Oregon, Linda Lohdefinck of University Place, Washington, Jacquelyn Lohdefinck of Draper, Utah; sister, Nola Judd of Sequim, Washington; grandchildren, Jami Jenkins-Black, Candace Halada (Kelly), Steele Ott, Hailey McGavin (Lance); great-grandchildren, Jordan Sams, Keyden and Nora Jane Halada, Elijah Ott and Jett McGavin, and several nieces and nephews. Dick was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Frank; sister, Yvonne; daughter, Darlene Peterson and his granddaughter, Autumn Peterson. May God be with you my love, my friend and my forever companion. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 from 5 to 7pm at Einan's at Sunset, 915 ByPass Hwy, Richland, WA. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at 10am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1321 Jadwin Ave in Richland, WA.
