RODNEY KEITH SIMONS Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home Rodney Keith Simons (Rod) age 56, of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Pasco, Washington, found eternal peace and rest in Jesus on Monday, February 20th, 2017 in Fort Myers, Florida. Known and loved by innumerable family, friends and audiences in all corners of the country, Rod grew up and spent his early years making forever friends in the Tri-Cities, Washington, before moving on to study at Washington State University, his beloved alma mater. It was here that he discovered his first love, radio, followed by sports broadcasting, and began a journey that would lead him around the world following his professional dream. Rod's was a voice and a presence in the broadcast media world that was at once humble and generous, insistent upon giving the credit to his team or his special guest; as well as energetic, captivating and inviting he wanted you to be a part of the experience. Off the field, off the camera, Rod Simons was a friend to everyone. He believed life was more than the game it was about people and how you treated them and lifted them up. Rod's highest calling was his family; his beautiful and loving wife, Pam, his inspiration and the love of his life; and their amazing and adoring daughter, Annie. Rod's goal was to be the best possible dad and husband. He led his family faithfully in their journey to know and trust God and share together their walk with the Lord. In addition to his wife and daughter, Rod is survived by his mother, Irene Simons of Pasco; his sister, Janine Bensussen of Richland; brothers Stanley Bensussen and Billy Simons, all from the Tri-Cities and big brother, Les Simons (Lenore) of Kent. Rod also leaves behind his many most beloved nieces and nephews in Washington State, Minnesota and North Carolina. A Public Viewing will be held for Rod on Monday, February 27, 2017 from 5:00 8:00 PM, with Rosary at 6:00 PM at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 1401 S. Union Street, Kennewick, WA. The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Pasco, WA with burial to follow at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, Kennewick, WA.
