WILLIAM "BILL" DOW SCOTT William "Bill" Dow Scott, 78 of Plymouth WA. passed away on July 5, 2016, after a lengthy battle with cancer, at his home with his family by his side. Bill was born on August 25, 1937 in Wooster, Ohio to Harold and Dorothy (Smith) Scott. The family moved to Randolph, OH where he graduated from High School in 1957. He served in the United States Air Force as a communication engineer from 1960 to 1964. In 1964 he met Gloria Kibler at a square dance in Canfield, OH. They were married on September 22, 1965 in New Galilee, PA. Bill worked for Hughes Aircraft Co. as a Field Tech Rep. for 3 years. In 1967 he went to work for Boeing as a buyer in quality control assurance. From 1970-1979 he served in the Washington Air National Guard. In 1974 he graduated from UW with a BS in Accounting. He left Boeing in 1974 and became a self-employed investor in both real estate and the financial markets. He continued to do that until his passing. In 1978 He and his family moved to Monitor WA. In 1982 he was elected as the representative to the Chelan County P.U.D District 2; a position he held until 1993. He was also appointed to the executive board of the Washington Public Power Supply System (Energy Northwest). During that time, he began investing in real estate in the Tri Cities. Bill and Gloria built a home in Plymouth in 2003. One of Bill's favorite hobbies was vegetable gardening. He was an intelligent financial investor and mentor. He was a seeker of truth and would read everything he could on any issue that interested him. Bill was a conservative Republican and served as a delegate to 3 national Republican Conventions. He was also a political activist helping many national, state and local candidates with their campaigns and ultimate elections. Bill helped organize the Cashmere Soccer Association. He loved youth sports; especially those his children and grandchildren played. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. Bill will be remembered as an eternal optimist who was strong mentally and physically, and as a fair and honest businessman. Bill was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by Gloria, his wife of 50 years. His children; Deborah (Brian) Ruegsegger, Heather (Richard) Davies, Aaron (Susan) Scott, Andrew (Snjezana) Scott, Daniel (Sarah) Scott, and Cynthia (David) Fouche. His siblings; Marjorie Riemenschneider, Pauline Larwood, Earl Scott and Carolyn Crites. He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren. Graveside services with military honors will be held on Saturday July 9, 2016 at the Cashmere City Cemetery at 10:00 AM. Bill's life will be celebrated on Saturday July 9 at the Chelan County P.U.D.
