Yvonne Marie Watkins passed away at home the morning of Friday, January 10, 2014. She spent her final weeks surrounded by family and care.

Yvonne was a daughter, a sister, a mother, an aunt, a friend, a dance partner, a teacher including nearly 20 years at Finley Elementary, and most recently a grandmother. She was all these things and very much more. She passed away just shy of her 61st birthday, but to say she is "survived" by her friends and family is an understatement.

Her life was not an example of mere existence, but one lived with purpose, passion, heart, laughter, and wisdom. The strength of her spirit could not be overcome by adversity and illness. Even in death, the spirit was not extinguished, but remains in those she loved and loved her.

This spring her ashes will be taken to the beaches of Lake Michigan in Indiana to be spread by her family. In the meantime, celebrate her life and share memories at http://www.ilasting.com/yvonne mariewatkins.php.
