SAINTONGE, Raymond Michael Feb 17, 1943 – Sept 12, 2016 Ray passed away with his family at his side after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Windsor, Ontario to Ivy and Michael, Ray settled in Richmond in 1983. He is survived by his wife Christine and his son Darren, as well as his sister Doreen, brother Arnold, and their families. He will be remembered by his friends and family as a kind, intelligent and thoughtful man who had a presence in every room; who loved to travel the world (both in reality and through his books), and who worked to make the community a better place through his efforts with Wikipedia, the Richmond School District and the Steveston Community Center. In his memory, we will be celebrating his life at the John M.S. Lecky UBC Boathouse, 7277 River Rd, Richmond on Sunday September 25, 2016 from 2-5 pm. In lieu of flowers, Ray would ask that donations be made to the BC Cancer Foundation 686 W Broadway #150, Vancouver, BC V5Z 1G1, or to the Salvation Army Rotary Hospice House, 6460 No. 4 Rd, Richmond, BC V6Y 2S9.
