Clifford C. Rogers, 88, of Sheldahl, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2009 in Ames. Services were held Monday, June 1, 2009 at Slater Baptist Church. Burial was in the Fjeldberg Church Cemetery, Huxley.
Clifford was born July 19, 1920 in Albia to Claude and Maude (Spencer) Rogers. He was a farmer and worked at the ISU Power Plant for 16 years, retiring in 1985. He married Dora Norton, May 5, 1943. She preceded him in death in 2002. He married Violet Collins February 2, 2003 and they resided in Sheldahl.
Clifford is survived by his children, Don & Cindy Rogers, Mary & Roger Vogel, Susan and Bob Niehoff, Charles Rogers, Jim & Carolyn Collins, Peggy and Steven Wright, Joetta Winkel, and Richard and Kim Collins; three sisters, Rena Ammous, Pauline Phillips, and Donna Corlis; two brothers, Harold (Phyllis) and Karl (Joyce); 23 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren; host of nieces, nephews and family.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dora, two brothers, Dwight and Lee and one daughter-in-law, Marilyn.
Memorials may be made to Slater Baptist Church or Pines Christian Care Center for Children.
Soderstrum-Riis Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
