Cloyd Dale Hall, 88, of Alleman, died Monday, Aug. 10, 2009 at Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. Services were held Aug. 13 at Salem United Church of Christ in Alleman with Pastor Marlys Ruth officiating. Burial was in the Lincoln Cemetery, Alleman.
Cloyd was born to D. Henry and Maggie (Dillan) Hall in Van Wert on March 30, 1921. He had served in the US Navy in World War II. He worked as a petroleum manager at the Alleman Coop retiring in 1983, and was the Alleman City Clerk for 26 years, retiring on March 31, 2009. He married Viola Laas on Nov. 13, 1993. He enjoyed fishing and golfing.
Survivors include his wife, Viola Hall; a son, Steve Hall; a daughter, Linda (Dave) Schick; 2 step-daughters, Judy (Jeff) Quan, and Kelly (Roy) Oswald; a step-son, Jack (Cathy) Purscell; a brother, Ardie Hall; a sister, Pauline Seuferer, many grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Alvina in 1988; one brother and six sisters.
Soderstrum-Riis Funeral Home handled arrangements.
